ALPHA Behavioral Health Center, with locations in the counties of Kershaw, Lee, and Chesterfield in South Carolina, seeks to provide quality services to individuals and their families to reduce problems associated with alcohol, tobacco and other drugs of abuse, behavioral health needs, and co-occurring disorders, in an accessible outpatient setting. Open Positions

ALPHA Behavioral Health Center is seeking a qualified candidate to provide clinical assessments and work with clients to complete and work towards treatment plan goals that address identified substance use/misuse, mental health or other behavioral health needs. The clinical counselor will collaborate with referral sources to provide progress reports and participate in weekly treatment team meetings to staff cases and for clinical supervision.

  • Requires a master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in behavioral science, human services, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience working with community-based or rehabilitative programs and a strong case management background is a plus.
  • Qualifications include a Master’s degree in counseling or related field plus LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT license.
  • Licensure as an Addiction Counselor by SC LLR preferred.
  • In lieu of the Addiction Counselor license, SCAADAC Certification within 3 years of employment is required.
  • Must be available to work 8:30 – 5:00 weekdays, with some flexibility in scheduling.

ALPHA Behavioral Health Center is seeking a highly motivated candidate to plan, organize and implement substance use prevention services throughout the community as directed by agency Prevention Director. The Prevention Specialist will use a set of knowledge, experience, training and skills to encourage healthy attitudes and behaviors that prevent the use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in behavioral science, human services, or a related field.
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Knowledge of pharmacological drugs and substance use disorders is extremely helpful.
  • Computer skills and public speaking skills are a plus.
  • Must possess and valid SC Driver’s License.
  • Must obtain certification through South Carolina Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates within 3 years of start date.
  • Must be available to work 8:30 – 5:00 weekdays, with some flexibility in scheduling including some Saturdays for events.

Paid Internship/Practicum Opportunities available for college students. These positions are challenging and provide real work experience in the field of behavioral health to prepare any student for graduation. Many interns have found their permanent full-time jobs with ALPHA as well
