DNA Testing

ALPHA is now offering DNA testing at our Camden & Chesterfield offices. ALPHA is partnered with DNA Solutions to provide rapid and affordable DNA relationship testing, providing legally binding, confidential, and conclusive results. DNA relationship testing can include paternity and maternity relationships as well as grandparents and siblings. A DNA test can assist in immigration, adoption, child support, and probate cases. Results can provide peace of mind, confidence, assurance, privacy and evidence of these relationships.
The fee for legal paternity or maternity testing begins at $300.00 for up to three samples. An additional sample can be tested for $100.00. We also offer other services such as Informational Paternity and Maternity testing, Grandparentage and Sibling Analysis starting at $375 for up to 3 samples or a DNA profile for $125 per person. Fees must be collected at time of service. The DNA samples are collected with mouth swabs and results are received within 3-5 days.
The following will be needed to complete collection and submit for testing:
  • Adults: Government Issued Photo ID (I.e. passport or driver’s license)
  • Children: Birth certificate, or hospital documentation and proof of legal guardianship
**Please Note the age of consent is 17. A parent/guardian must be present for those under the age of 17.
A paternity test is a scientific test that compares the DNA of a child, mother, and alleged father to determine the likelihood whether the man is or is not the biological father of a child. It is possible to test only the child and alleged father, but it is preferred to also test the mother when possible
If all parties involved in the testing agree to participate voluntarily, neither an attorney nor court order is required.
No. Age and drug consumption do not affect the results. A person’s DNA used in paternity testing does not change over time.
If two related men are possible fathers of a child, it is highly recommended to test both possible fathers. If this is not possible, it is important to alert the laboratory that there are other possible fathers who are related to the tested alleged father
No, there is no minimum age. Collection of DNA samples for paternity or identity testing using buccal swabs is safe for all ages. Minors must have appropriate consent from a legal guardian or a court order to collect the samples
