The Community Based Treatment Program is for adults seeking treatment services in the least restrictive setting to address problems that may be due to alcohol and/or other drugs of abuse, behavioral health issues and/or mental health issues.
Treatment services are developed to address specific problems utilizing a variety of modalities that may include group, individual, and family counseling. A Clinical Counselor will conduct a full assessment and work with the individual to develop a treatment plan that addresses identified desired goals and skills to achieve. Services can include counseling for substance use and mental health disorders, grief, stress and/or anxiety, anger management, marital relationships, trauma, parenting/family counseling, and more. Individuals can work toward identifying the underlying problems, building skills to increase resiliency, and build on healthy choices.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is for individuals with an opioid or alcohol use disorder. MAT uses FDA- approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of these substance use disorders
MAT can help increase success in their Recovery by helping manage withdrawals and cravings while working with a counselor in therapy to learn skills in coping and managing with areas of life and improve their overall wellbeing. Medications used for MAT are evidence-based treatment options and do not just substitute one drug for another.
Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat these disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery. MAT is also used to prevent or reduce risk of opioid overdoses. (Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) | SAMHSANational)

The Offender Based Treatment Services is a substance use/misuse education and treatment program. Services are available for individuals referred by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon.

The referral will receive an initial clinical assessment by a Certified SAP Counselor. The Certified SAP Counselor will provide a letter with the identified requirements directly to the Designated Employer Representative (DER).
